Herrin, IL is growing from its sleep old town appeal and really delivering a lot more flavor than back in the 80's.

oss Mexican food, multiple Italian restaurants, great American burger joints that go beyond fast food, and Chinese food that's delicious and gentle on the wallet.
Living in Herrin means getting a taste of early 1900's architecture. From the pushed together shops to the warehouse against the bus stop, a touch of the turn of the century can still be felt in this classic town.
If you enjoy a nice pub crawl or just having lots of choices in your dining, you don't need to leave Herrin at all. If you need to taste other flavors and get a bit of variety without driving too far, Herrin is conveniently located near Marion and Carbondale.
For major city sightseeing, your best bets are St, Louis in Missouri just under 2 hours away, or Nashville, TN at just under 3 hours.
