Authentic Small Town America 4.5 rating By Tmk00 ( Apr 04, 2017) Hartford City is a caring, friendly community looking forward to new people moving in, which is likely because it's one of the safest towns around. People here know how to work hard but also know how to stop and chat. Rooted in agriculture and maybe still stuck in the 1950's (or ...Read More the 1850's if you consider the living history events like Civil War Days and Rendezvous on the Reservation.) The biggest thing going on is probably the county fair, and the hippest place might be the coffee shop on the courthouse square. A lot of people here worry that growth isn't happening fast enough, but others are happy to keep things the way they are. Personally I like the fresh air, green fields, and a lot of nature areas nearby. Read Less
