Wood River, Illinois Is the Best!!!! User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 23, 2018) Wood River is an absolutely terrific place to live! Small town living but not too far from a metro area as St. Louis is only about 15 miles away!

The best things about living here are many! At the top of the list I feel that the most important is the sense of community, the fr ...Read More iendliness of the people here, and the fact that there are fun things to do all the time but if you are looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing on a daily basis then this is the place to be!

The best thing to visit here is the Wood River Museum and Visitor Center. The museum has lots of artifacts and stories throughout history of the culture of the area and the economic growth of the land. It's really cool to see how things have changed and progressed throughout the years!

We have little boutiques to shop at, parks to play and explore or even enjoy a cookout or two, and different festivals throughout the year to celebrate. I really love it here! Read Less
