I lived here for 10 years. The people are incredibly rude, unfriendly, snooty and think they're the best thing to happen to civilization. It's even worse if you move outside of Williamsville proper to say, Harris Hill or god forbid Clarence. It's just horrible beyond words. They ...Read More
are obsessed with their children's hockey to the point of being "those" hockey parents who fight in the arena--yet they drive luxury automobiles and live in expensive houses, they behave like total savages. They also have this super-weird culture that you won't understand unless you were born into it. The wives are all 'trophy wives' who do nothing but compare plastic surgeries and what their husband bought them recently. The husbands are horrible--philandering, drug addicts who write off their myriad of issues by way of believing they're entitled to do as they please because they have money. It's this sick, sexist Valley of the Dolls meets Stepford Wives world. So. Sick.
If you're single, you'll stay that way. The people living in Williamsville are only worried about their sad little cog-in-a-wheel careers, and even if you live in the same upscale apartment complex for several years, you'll never know who your neighbors are because no one talks to anyone. It's so weird. Like really really odd sociological behaviors that you'll study and never understand. It's almost like if you take all the bad things about LA and cram them into the suburbs with a never ending supply of ice, snow, and gusting winds, you'd have Williamsville and the surrounding suburbs.
I would best describe it as a place your company would send you temporarily until you quit or they transfer you to an actual city...it's like a working-person Purgatory. Avoid.
