Need to update Education Score - Texas Education Agency has rated Wichita Falls ISD with Cs and Ds overall the last 2 years while Schooldigger.com rates it as 676th of 973 School Districts in Texas for 2018 - the bottom 33% - Score should be a "C" at best. Livability numerical sc ...Read More

There is the 10 mile trail that has been established so you can ride bikes or go for a walk. The trail runs along the Wichita River and Holliday Creek. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. A stroll through the vast countryside in Wichita Falls is astonishing. The scene is spectacular. Red, yellow, golden, green and orange. The sunset is breathtaking. The parks with the overgrown paths call out to you to walk them and enjoy nature at its finest.
The Wichita Falls nightlife includes The Outskirts Night Club, great food, upbeat music, and cold drinks. You could visit the Iron Horse Pub that specializes in live music and knee slapping fun! The restaurants are superb! Gourmet to deep south foods. Everything your heart could desire in a medium sized city. Explore the definition of escaping!
The only negative aspect in the city of Wichita Falls, Texas is that there are never enough hours in the day and night. This is why I chose to live here forever.

Wichita Falls is found in Wichita County in Texas. It boasts a population of around 105,000 people, making it a medium-sized city. There is substantial business growth in this city as well as military opportunity through the Sheppard Air Force Base. One of the most interesting places in this city is the "world's littlest skyscraper" which is called the Newby-McMahon Building. There is much more to explore once moving to Wichita Falls, however.
There are both safe and more unsafe neighborhoods in Wichita Falls. The safest neighborhoods are those that are more affluent. These include those such as Haiti Drive, Taft Boulevard and Granada Drive. There are also safe areas for families to reside in including Armstrong Drive, Old Iowa Park Road, Byers and Petrolia. Be sure to perform your own research to determine if a neighborhood meets your needs, however.
The cost of housing in Wichita Falls is much lower than it is in the rest of the country. It is almost more than half lower than housing costs in the rest of Texas. Most homes cost around $120,000. Rentals can be as low as $540, though most are closer to $700 in the city.
Utility prices are a bit higher than they are in other parts of the country and Texas. This may be due to the climate as the city is very hot to live in and very humid. This may increase the need for air conditioning and other electrical services. Grocery and transportation costs are significantly lower than those found in the rest of America and the rest of Texas, however.
Falls Ride operates a public bus transportation service throughout Wichita Falls. The routes run Monday through Saturday. The hours are normal business hours that people may be going to or coming home from work. Other transportation offerings include grocery store transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities, as well as curbside pickup for the same population. There is also Greyhound service at the Jolly stop and shuttle services to go to Dallas or Fort Worth.
There are large open spaces throughout Wichita Falls. There are many parks and recreational facilities such as Lucy Park which offers many amenities such as a swimming pool, golf course, playgrounds and walkways. There are also even waterfalls in the park that give the city its name. Lake Wichita Park is also here with trails, fields and views of the lake.
Wichita Falls is a beautiful city in Texas. It is home to gorgeous waterways, wildlife and wide open spaces. Housing and the cost of living is very affordable in this town so you and your family can enjoy all that there is to offer. Be sure to experience all there is in Wichita Falls upon your move.
