Not a very exciting place but good for families 3 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 04, 2024) Westmont is pretty well known for its car dealerships on Ogden and high-performing schools in CUSD 201. However, it doesn't really have much to offer except for Ty Warner Park, and the Liberty Park subdivision needs massive improvements in infrastructure (it looks outdated and do ...Read More esn't have much greenery). Good schools and good location 3 rating By Anonymous ( Mar 06, 2024) Mostly a good and safe area except that one neighborhood Northwest of Ogden and Cass called liberty Park which is probably the area with most crime also the apartments near 63rd and 59th are also an area with a rising crime rate due to many factors, however the schools north of 5 ...Read More 5th street are pretty good but the elementary schools need some improvement it has an alright downtown but I consider Downtown Downers Grove and La Grange bigger and better and cleaner than downtown Westmont. The train station could see some improvements as it's a bit run down and there's some homeless people there. Best part of the town is the North East Side by i83 and Oakbrook road North of Ogden ave but expensive and basically Oak Brook. Its in a pretty good location because you're near the city and you could just take i290 or i55 to the city or you could take the metra and there's many highways near by like i294 i88 i83 i55 and i355. We don't have many attractions or any type of nightlife, but the best thing about Westmont is that we are close to the city, so it's not that difficult to find fun even ...Read More ts on the weekends.

In the summer, we have different street events and festivals. We have a community center that has several activities throughout the year that are perfect for the family including swimming, basketball, soccer and more.

I usually travel to Oakbrook for more choices in shopping and restaurants. I do recommend having a car, but we have buses and trains which makes it easy to commute. I usually take the train to work because it is cheaper and less stressful with all of the traffic. Most people I know have to commute at least 30 minutes for a decent job, but it is nice to have different transportation options. Read Less
