I always dreamed of moving to New York. I pictured large skyscrapers and lots and lots of people. Of course Central Park was also part of the picture and maybe a good view of the Statue of Liberty. Well much to my surprise, this is a good description of the New York city area, bu ...Read More

My wife was born and raised in West Seneca, New York. She wanted to return to her roots and raise our family in this part of the country. I was a little skeptical because I grew up in Arizona and didn't want to live in a crowed city.
Happily this is not the case and since I have lived here for the past ten years I can only make great comments. It is really a suburb of buffalo and cannot only be cold, it can be plain old miserable in the winter. But once you get use to it and buy a snow blower, you don't really mind at all.
Our humble little town was voted one of the best places in the country to raise kids. We have so much going on all year long and my kids played youth basketball and soccer last year and I must say we have one of the best teams in this part of the state. The kids have excellent coaches and they are hoping to get scholarships for college. Well, at least I am hoping.
Aside from the sports, my wife loves all the shopping. She says she can find everything she needs right in our little community. No need to go into the city, but of course at times we do, and that can be fun and expensive. Sometimes we take the train and that is a great way to save gas and driving time.
Overall I am glad I followed my wife to this area. My parents come to visit every year and they usually try to make sure it is summer because of the harsh winters. This is a place I would recommend to anyone who wants to have a warm community feel with friendly people and neighbors. I love my town and I think anyone else would to.
