Life in West Odessa Tx.- Lots of Work not Much Fun 3 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) I lived in West Odessa Tx. for about two years. My primary reason for moving there from a different and larger Texas city was to find better and higher paying employment. If you're a male and in good shape and looking to earn and save money and if you don't mind living in a small town where there's not much to do, then Odessa is the place for you.

Low crime, quiet nights, high school football, and lazy Sundays are what this town is all about. There are other job opportunities in West Odessa Tx. other than the gas and oil fields that pay well such as the food industry, but if you're looking for a career as a professional such as a doctor, lawyer or another profession that requires a degree, then you would be better off in a larger city. The population of Odessa is only 117,000, but Odessa was perfect for what I needed it for- a chance to get out of the big city, save some money, and get out. Read Less
