e. I feel so lucky to have lived in West Hempstead because I am close to A&S Bagels, a 24 hour bagel shop that has been rated as being within the top 20 bagel shops in the United States. I can see why they are rated like that, because they have a great selection of bagels and they are open 24 hours. Where else can you find a bagel with cheese cooked onto it, or a blueberry bagel?
Also, Hempstead Turnpike, a busy street with a lot of great local businesses—coffee houses, pubs, sports places, cultural centers and hobby places, runs through West Hempstead. There is a delicious Turkish restaurant on Hempstead Turnpike. Also, there is The Witch's Brew—a beautiful coffee house.
