Watervliet New York: The Mother of Towns 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 28, 2018) I had a brilliant experience while living in Watervliet New York. The city is in Albany County. Watervliet is close to Center Square, Albany. The township has two schools in the district. New residents will find that there are great job opportunities. The housing can be scarce in ...Read More the area. My family and I always feel safe in the neighborhood, and the cost of living is very moderate for New York. Weather in Watervliet is enjoyable. It is deemed the mother of towns because so many other towns were born from it.

Some of the best areas in Watervliet New York surround 19th Street. This is where most of the city’s shopping and dining facilities are. This street also stretches across the Hudson River to other amenities including Prospect Park. Albany is about 10 minutes away. The town of Watervliet is very harmonious. Neighbors are very helpful and supportive. I enjoy that the town is small and that everything is within walking distance. My husband and children love riding bikes around for great exercise. Watervliet is a nice town. Read Less
