Away From It All In Twin Falls, ID User Rating 3 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 12, 2015) I have lived in Twin Falls, Idaho for several years in the past and this is truly an area to live if you really want to be away from it all. Boise Idaho is the closest major metropolitan area and the next closest is Salt Lake City, which is multiple hours away. Other than that, T ...Read More win Falls is completely isolated on every side, but the city itself and the community are very nice. There is an extremely low crime rate, which is great, but it can be difficult to find a job out here, as there just isn't much industry in Twin Falls.

If you love the outdoors, Twin Falls is a great place. Named after two waterfalls on the Snake River, which is located just south of Twin Falls, there are a ton of outdoor activities to be enjoyed in the area. Idaho is well known for it's fishing and hunting and there are few places in the State, or the country for that matter that can out match Twin Falls and the surrounding areas when it comes to hunting grounds and fishing. There is a massive salmon run that comes up the Snake river and many people come to the area to hunt deer and other wild animals. There is also great skiing and snowboarding in the winter, with a handful of resorts within an hour's drive.

This area does have it's downfalls, however, and you are not going to find great restaurants or shopping in this area and you definitely aren't going to find much nightlife. You can find your basic restaurants and normal nationwide shopping centers, but that's about as far as it goes when it comes to amenities in the city of Twin Falls, Idaho. Read Less
