Torrington Welcomes You 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) Living in the city of Torrington is a nice place to live for it has low crime rates, a lot of local amenities, and sunny weather. Torrington has a lot of close ranged amenities such as: grocery stores, shopping malls, libraries, coffee places, etc. and is graded an overall A+. Al ...Read More so, the crime rate is A+. Moreover, Torrington's employment, housing, and weather are decent, all rated C-, its unemployment rate 5.8%, and Torrington's housing is lower than the state's and nation's. Unfortunately, its cost of living is an index is 4% higher than the nation's. Lastly, Torrington's public schools average test scores are lower than the state's and nation's averages.
