The Hammocks, FL - My Unadulterated Review User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 27, 2012) I have lived in the Hammocks in Florida going on 4 years now. When I moved here initially, I was pretty excited, since I have always had a love for the state of Florida. The palm trees, the storms in the afternoon that pass quickly, even the heat. I love it all. However, when I f ...Read More inally relocated to the Hammocks, I was in for a lot more than I expected - I learned that just when I thought I could not love Florida more, I did! This place is seriously one of thw coolest places I have ever lived in my entire life. It is such a beautiful part of the state of Florida. It might sound silly, but I feel like I'm on vacation everyday I wake up here. Literally. I feel like I have been a 4 year (and counting) vacation.

The reason why I love this little slice of paradise more than any other city I have lived in is two fold: the natural beauty that envelopes the area and the incredibly kind and laid back attitude of the people that live here. There's a reason why they call it the "hammocks'! Its so laid back here! I have lived in places that had one or the other, but never, ever, had both. I believe this is the reason why living here has broken the cycle that involves me moving every two years for the past 10 years. This place has everything that I have ever wanted - friendly locals and naturally beautiful surroundings.

Now with, all that said, there are a few things that I could live without: the hurricanes, when (not if) they come. However, that is an issue all across the state of Florida, so I can't really hold it against the hammocks because it is not exclusive to this little area. Another thing I could do without is the humidity. It definitely doesn't work well with my hair, but on the other hand who cares? No one judges me about it anyway, people are just too friendly here to do that.
