I have lived in Sun Prairie for 8 years (Moved Here in 2012), and, in my humble opinion, is one of the greatest places to live in Wisconsin, and, heck, in the whole USA.
There is a Multitude of things to do here in town, and, being 5 minutes from Madison, has even more things ju ...Read More
st down the road.
My Personal favorite is the Sun Prairie Historical Museum, where they have a huge exhibit on Georgia O'Keeffe (Who was born in Sun Prairie).
There is an amazing sense of community in Sun Prairie, as was evident when a large gas explosion rocked downtown, the whole community came together to help.
The cost of living is a little high, but it is worth the money, as you get a Safe, Fun, and Diverse place to call home.
The schools in town are among the highest standard of education in the state. The Music Program can't be beat. The Athletics also have a great reputation.
There are a Multitude of Local Gems to Dine at, such as Gus's Diner, a 50's style diner with amazing food.
There are also a lot of Mom and Pop Shops downtown and a lot of Department Stores on Grand Avenue.
I have nothing but great things to say about Sun Prairie, and overall rank at one of the best places to live.

Sun Prairie Wisconsin is one of the safest places to live in the state. It's located a short commute away from Madison as well. I was born in the Madison area and spent much of my childhood around Sun Prairie. The weather is perfect as the average temperature only reaches about s ...Read More
ixty-nine degrees in the summer. There's much to do in the area, as well as good schools for the kids.
I love Prairie Lanes when looking for a day out with the family or a fun date night out. It's a great bowling alley with an arcade and volleyball court. For dinner, I adore eating at Full Mile Beer Company and Kitchen. They're a great restaurant with a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Sun Prairie has limited shopping, but a great selection of activities for the wildlife enthusiast! The Sun Prairie Aquatic Center is tons of fun. Plus, the Deansville State Park area is just a short drive from town.
The education in Sun Prairie is excellent with many public schools and a few private or alternative schools as well. Their students score seven percent higher than the state average. Sun Prairie is wonderful for families since it's one of the safer places to live in Wisconsin. The cost of living is higher as a result. You'll pay for your safety. If you have a family, you know it's worth it.
The population in Sun Prairie is just over thirty thousand. It's not too large or too small. Sun Prairie has great educational options, attractions, places to eat and coffee shops. It's perfect for any family or younger couple. Plus, a visit to the Great Lakes is just a few hours east!
