Sterling, IL Gets A Big Thumbs Down 0.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Since I have been living in Sterling for more than 9 years now let me just say with some authority that this is NOT a place you want to move to! Never have I seen a place where the town's own residents don't care about making things any better, but the handful of us who do are fa ...Read More r outnumbered by the ones who are the reason for the crazy high crime rate, the terrible housing market (no one wants to live in a place where everything is run-down and dilapidated), and the awful schools here that are so bad the kids drop out the minute they're old enough to.

The only things worth mentioning around here as far as what could even remotely be called entertainment are Beans Coffeehouse and Music Cafe, Jedi Amusements amusement park, Blackhawk Fun Center, Starlights Theatre and Lounge, and the Dead Tree Tavern where everybody goes to get drunk and get into fights.
