The community is a small and friendly one, welcoming to newcomers and with a small town atmosphere that will make you feel right at home. Historically a largely working class community, St. Thomas was affected greatly by the decline of the railroad and automotive industries. However, today is has been redevelop as a suburb of London and many are making their way to this idyllic hamlet for a peaceful and affordable lifestyle. Housing in St. Thomas is inexpensive, even cheaper than affordable London and you’re likely to get larger residential spaces for the same amount. If you’re looking for a cosy home with history and character, head to the downtown St. Thomas’ core. In the areas around Roseberry Place, Gladstone Street, Wellington Street, you’ll still find beautiful buildings from the affluent days of the Victorian era. Alternatively, you’ll find modern residences in one of the newer planned subdivisions.

In addition to housing, low cost of utilities, amenities and other basics, the cost of living in St. Thomas is relatively low. Due to it its proximity to major roads and the ease with which you can get around, transport costs are also inexpensive.
