Great town if you grew up here 3.5 rating By avgsuperheroine ( Dec 06, 2016) Spencer is a great town with a lot of wonderful people and more culture, dining and shopping than you will find for quite a distance. The cultural opportunities are actually really amazing, the community theatre is great, there's an art gallery and a concert series. For the mos ...Read More t part the community is really nice. I moved here from out of state with no connections, and it's a very difficult place to feel a part of if you're an outsider. If you're younger, there is very little to do to meet up with people, make friends or date if you're single. If you have a family the schools are amazing, the pool is the perfect size for my taste, the library is really great, and there are lots of great activities for your kids to get involved in. However, despite living here for 20 years, and having jobs where I've gotten to know several hundred people, I'm still not "from here" and am treated as such. Read Less
