Sheldon, CT - The Best Of Suburban Living User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( Apr 26, 2018) All in all, Shelton, CT, isn't that bad of a place to live. It is a town with a population of around 40,000, and like any town of that size it will have its ups and downs. I lived here for several years just after I graduated college. As far as attractions go, this town is fairly ...Read More decent for its size. The tourism mostly focuses on agricultural, with many individuals enjoying the tree farms, and the pumpkin and berry picking.

There is a decent sense of community in this little town as well. There are several playgrounds, opportunities for water activities with the nearby Housatonic River, and quite a few opportunities for extracurricular activities for the older children as well. All at all, it is definitely a great place to raise a family.

They also have a decent amount of restaurants, shopping, and even a small amount of nightlife (although somewhat limited). There are restaurants with a variety of different styles and cuisine, and the many downtown business is allow for a great amount of shopping. Like I said, the nightlife is a bit limited, but they do have Wednesday night concerts at the park. Read Less
