North Raleigh NC is a great place to raise a family. I have lived here for over 20 years and have grown with the town. We currently live in the North Hills area. This area of town has more than 27,000 people. However, most of the people here are friendly and seem to be busy going ...Read More
about their own business. There's not a real sense of community, but I like the fact that everyone kind of stays to themselves. There are some civic events going on in the downtown, but it is for those who like to blend in. However, that cannot be said of all the neighborhoods in North Raleigh.
Deciding where to settle down may be hard. There were a lot of new housing developments that went in the Coachman's Trail area; today these homes have mature trees and plenty of curb appeal, not like the cookie cutter communities of today. These homes also fetch a fair premium too. Those looking for an area that has plenty of parks and is really family oriented should check out the Bedford at Falls River. This area doesn't seem to be as much populated as some of the other new developments; both the homes and amenities are nice. Falls River has that small town feel that so many people are looking for. The great thing is it is within walking distance of the parks and quaint shops. Summerfield is another Northern community that is all about togetherness. The people are welcoming and seem to always be helpful. With fall festivals and a horse drawn carriage ride in town center, it's everything anyone could ask for.
One thing that can be noticed about this area is the multiplicity. There are people from all walks of life. It is culturally acceptable and diverse. It's an area where anyone can fit in. In the North area there are more than 24 grocery stores and 75 restaurants. So, no one will go hungry here. The southern hospitality is one of the best features of the locals. It seems like even though everyone is so busy, no one is too busy to stop and say hello to a friend. The schools, well there are the best in the state. They have ranked high with achievement testing and tend to make good students even better. When looking for a good place to live with good schools and a family type neighborhood, North Raleigh is the place to be!
