Racine, WI - Lakeside Elegance User Rating 2.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 23, 2010) I visited Racine, WI on business and was quite surprised at what I found. Wisconsin is generally nature oriented with lots of open fields and farm land, Racine was no exception. Racine is located on a beautiful lake which makes for a great downtown area. I found myself bored after just two days in WI however I was traveling alone and hoping for nightlife, which there is not any nightlife in Racine.

Shopping in Racine was limited to Antiques. Antique collectors should visit the 7 Mile Fair which hosts a large amount of Antique shops and dealers. Fans of Golf can take a nice relaxing day at the Ives Grove Golf Links; a beautiful 18-hole course. Families are sure to love the Quarry Lake Park and Racine Zoological Gardens. The Wind Point Lighthouse makes for a great day stop and can be prove to be both fun and education for the children.

Racine is a very quiet community, but for the young at heart there is very little nightlife and shopping. Racine would make a good, laid back place to raise a family. The school systems in Racine are not exactly known for being exceptional although they don't have a bad reputation either. The Marina and waterfront area is a great place to grab some crab or flounder with the family, unless your not a fan of seafood. Read Less
