The area has moderate housing developments. Crime is not relevant here. The town is very safe when I take neighborhood strolls in the afternoon hours. Weather is extra special. It is nice every season of the year.

Some of the best areas in Pontiac Illinois surround the Pontiac Elks Lodge and Golf Course. There are ample shopping and fine dining venues in the immediate area. The course of a sight to behold as well. It is very well groomed and features pristine lakes. The city links St. Louis to Chicago via Route 4, which was established in 1922 and later became the famously used Route 66 in 1925.
