Plantation FL - The Perfect Place For Shoppers User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 23, 2010) Living in South Florida for nearly my entire life, I am very familiar with Plantation, Florida. This city is situated between the town of Davie to the south and Lauderhill to the north. It is also conveniently located just west of Ft. Lauderdale and east of Sunrise. In fact, you ...Read More could reach Ft. Lauderdale in only 15 minutes by car. It is a lovely city with many large palm trees lined along the main roads and many beautiful parks. With a variety of restaurants, shops and a mall here, shopping and dining choices are plenty.

Sunrise is located to the west of Plantation where the world famous Sawgrass Mills is located. This mall is huge and consists of many name brand retail outlets. There are also many movie theaters located here for entertainment.

Plantation is an older city of Broward County which is made up of nice Florida style homes and many apartment buildings. With its residents and shops, one could consider this area to be a bit more upper-class than nearby towns and cities. Many of Plantation's residents are retirees who have lived here for years.

The only downside of Plantation is the traffic along University Drive, which is a busy main road that runs through Plantation. This area is usually congested with all the restaurants and shopping located along it. Read Less
