Pawtucket, RI - The City with a Small Town Feel 3 rating By Anonymous ( Aug 03, 2010) My experiences with Pawtucket, Rhode Island have always revolved around visiting the small city in order to catch the Pawtucket Red Sox play ball. It was an economical way to watch some good sports action and maybe to witness a rehab stint of a Boston Red Sox player sent down to ...Read More the minors for assignment.

Generally, I find it is a pleasant place as far as the community goes. If you are looking for nighttime excitement, it's best to head to Providence, as Pawtucket is essentially a small city with a small town feel. The restaurants in the neighborhood offer very little flash, but you can find some decent seafood or a tasty slice of pizza.

Surprisingly, this New England city has been hit by Hollywood to use it as a location for many major motion pictures.

I find taking a stroll along the Blackstone River in Pawtucket on an autumn or summer day could never be viewed as a bad thing, but avoid this destination at all costs during the winter.

If you're looking for an excursion in the overall scope of a New England vacation, you could do worse than Pawtucket. Read Less
