Lower East Side Neighborhood - Great for Young People and Partiers User Rating 5 rating By Anonymous ( Sep 20, 2012) I have lived in NYC for my entire life, and one thing I know for sure is the Lower East Side neighborhood is a great place to live if you enjoy partying and the night life. When I lived in the Lower East Side, I was a college kid who couldn't get enough of the hustle and bustle o ...Read More f a really great place to party and meet up with friends at almost any time of the night. No, I wouldn't say living in the Lower East Side would be ideal for families looking to raise kids, but it's excellent for any young adults who want to stay busy all the time, and enjoy a lot of excitement.

There are nightclubs, restaurants, and all sorts of shops conveniently located in the Lower East Side, and most people who visit NYC are sure to pass through, which makes for meeting a lot of travelers, as well as locals. It is easy to get an apartment for about $2,500 a month, which if considering the fact you are living in the Lower East Side of NYC, isn't all that unreasonable. Would I recommend a family relocate to the Lower East Side? Probably not! This is because it may not be the best place for the family oriented, or for older people who enjoy peace and quiet. You won't get much of that in the Lower East Side.

As with any other area of NYC, you have your crime and this can be expected, but because I lived in the Lower East Side, I learned the ropes and knew where to be and where not to be. This is an adverse section of NYC that I, being who I am would have to rate as extremely desirable, again for some people. The area can be quite noisy and congested, which for me was one of the things I loved most. Basically, it's party central. While there are a few prominent areas in the neighborhood, for the most part it is not a place a vast majority of people choose to live in. However, at this price line, it's a steal considering the location.
