Jackson Heights, New York - A Friendly Place To Live User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Sep 05, 2012) Jackson Heights New York is a community that offers the allure of diversity while still remaining a friendly place to live. I have always loved that this community never really looked like the rest of NYC. This beautiful neighborhood offers a unique view of why New York City is o ...Read More ne of the best places to live. I remember being able to enjoy a wide variety of cultures and foods from around the world. The available choices of cuisine include Indian, Asian, Peruvian and even Columbian. While there are some really fantastic restaurants in the Heights, the best food can always be gotten from the street vendors. Tacos to fresh fruit slices make the variety hard to choose and mouth watering.

What is best about Jackson Heights is the fashion of housing. These are still apartments but they are bigger, roomier, and let plenty of light in. The architecture is pleasing to the eye, and many even have their own garden attached! What a joy in mid summer to harvest your own vegetables in one of the busiest cities in the world! If the apartment life is not something one is interested in, there are plenty of single and double family homes available. The prices are a little steep, but that is the price you pay to be in a place where there is something to do around the clock.

Parking and storage of recreational vehicles is a little better in Jackson Heights than in other places in the city. Although it does seem that over the years to congestion on the roads has increased making moving those vehicles around a bit harder to do. If not in a serious rush try the public transportation systems for change of pace. They are efficient, but sometimes not so clean. Especially during the holidays when parades and community events take place the traffic can be a killer.
