Bensonhurst, New York Neighborhood Review User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Sep 19, 2012) I remember my youth in Bensonhurst fondly. This was a place where a kid could get a piece of pizza, catch a movie, hang out in the park, and skip rocks across the waves all in one afternoon. There was no thought in our minds that we could be hurt because this was a place where ev ...Read More eryone looked out for everyone. It was definitely not your typical New York City neighborhood.

Bensonhurst had it all. The apartment buildings where a large variety of nationalities and people lived, and the single family homes and duplexes scattered throughout the borough. I think out of all the neighborhoods in New York, this is the one that had the best architecture and the most beautiful landscaping.

There is also never a time when one would be bored in Bensonhurst. There is always so much to do and many places to visit in this region of New York. A whole day can be spent visiting a boutique, window shopping, or just taking a stroll along the coastline. If the weather is not so great a day of bowling or a movie will do the trick. There are usually tons of festivities and activities going on throughout the district. Recently there was a corn shucking festival that was a blast.

In terms of real estate, the prices on private homes may seem a bit pricey, but they offer unique floor plans in a borough that prides itself on keeping the crime at a minimum. The schools are also some of the best in the city. Many new businesses are opening everyday in Besonhurst and Brooklyn overall. Whatever one may need if they cannot presently find it in Besonhurst, it will probably be opening soon.

Besonhurst also has some of the most beautiful foliage to be had in the city. This sometimes causes a problem with commuter trains, but once it is cleaned off of the tracks, it makes for beautiful sights as one is travelling to work. Besonhurst also gate its fair share of visitors looking to enjoy the fall colors at this time of year.
