Bay Ridge, New York - Pretty Great! User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Sep 24, 2012) I have lived in New York for my whole life. The part I reside in is Brooklyn, New York. There are many great things about this area. One is all the history you are able to view. There are several historical buildings open to the public. Another thing I enjoy is the shopping. Ever ...Read More ything is so close together in this area. Shopping is less of a chore when things are closer together. One thing I do not enjoy about this area is the traffic. You can sit in traffic for hours waiting to get to where you have to go. Many people use alternate modes of transportation for this reason. There is so much to do in this city. You will never have a hard time finding entertainment for you and your family.

The part of Brooklyn I live in is Bay Ridge. There are many great things about this neighborhood. This neighborhood is filled with middle class individuals. This means that you will not find a mass amount of delinquents tracing through here. The local train for this neighborhood is the "R train". This mode of transportation will take you almost anywhere in the local area. Bay Ridge has more elderly individuals than most places around. You might even think this area is a retirement neighborhood. Everybody is generally nice for the most part. The community works hard to keep the neighborhood in tip top shape. You will notice that the neighborhood is pretty clean. You will not find trash cluttered everywhere. The 69th street pier is a nice place to relax at. You can sit out there all day and have a feeling of peace.

Overall, Bay Ridge is a nice neighborhood to reside in. The crime rate is pretty low for the most part. You will not have to worry about raising children in this neighborhood. You might even enjoy this place so much that you want to retire here. Keep this neighborhood in mind next time you are looking for a new place to move! Read Less
