Take A Minute To Explore Minot 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( Aug 18, 2015) While Minot, ND might be cold most of the winter, there are some positive things about living in the city. I have lived here for two years. I moved to be closer to my father so that I could take care of him. The cost of food is rather low, and the housing is ideal. Many of the ho ...Read More uses in the area look like small cabins or cottages. The rent for a typical two-bedroom runs about $700 a month. If you're looking for a specific kind of job, you probably won't find it, but if you want to work at a ski lodge, then this is an area where you want to move.

I've noticed that there are plenty of things for children and families to do while in Minot. There are parks, such as Heritage Park, with buildings that give a little background information about the city. Roosevelt Park Zoo is a place to visit if you enjoy looking at animals. My favorite animals to look at are the penguins as they waddle along the shore of their habitat. When the weather turns warm, the Roosevelt Park Pool becomes an oasis for those who want to beat the heat. There is a splash pad for the kids and a lazy river. This is an attraction I like to visit as it's a way to relax after a long day of work. There aren't as many restaurants as i would like to see, but there are several shopping centers. The Dakota Square Mall is probably the largest in the area. Some of the stores need to be updated, but it's a good place to find quality fashions, shoes and other items for the home. Read Less
