My favorite thing to do in Milford, CT is taking my family to the beach. The best areas in Milford are Long Island Sound and Walnut beaches because they offer the perfect scenery for sightseers like myself and allow my kids to explore different seashells and plant species. Both b ...Read More

Milford is not only known for their saltwater beaches and water activities. Living in Milford has its perks including a good school district with over 15 public elementary - high schools to choose from. We were ranked as one of the highest districts in Connecticut for safe schools.
Overall, if you have a family or someone that is looking for a safe, peaceful city with a lot of things to do, consider Milford. I recommend visiting during our annual Oyster Festival as we are very prideful and have a long culinary history of shellfish. If you don’t like shellfish, the classic car show, kayak, and canoe races are guaranteed to please.

One of the things I absolutely love about living in Milford, CT is the access I have to New York City without actually having to live there. I can be in New City within an hour or so, which is very convenient when I have out of town guests that want to experience the Big Apple. A ...Read More
lso, you can't beat being this close to the water. There are several beaches in Milford that are family friendly.
The city's nightlife can feel a little bit sleepy in comparison to NYC, but I like it that way. I would rather have the hustle and bustle be an hour away. We do have museums and an awesome Audubon Society Center. Also, for any of you golf lovers, we have some of the best courses I ever have played on in the area. If you are a World War I or II buff you have to come to see the many monuments and the submarine exhibit. It is amazing.
I relocated to Milford, CT from Houston, Texas and I could not be happier. The coast line reminds me of home, but the atmosphere and the seasons are to die for. The community is very friendly and well divers. Also, the violent crime rate is fairly low for being so close to NYC, which is one of the things that drew me to Milford.
Since I moved to Milford, CT five years ago, I have been completely happy with my choice and could never image living anywhere else. I feel I have the best of both worlds right here; the big city amenities with a close nit community atmosphere. Plus, the food here is superb thanks to the many different cultures here from Cuban to Greek to Italian to Indian. You can eat different types of food each day of the week. What more can you ask for?
