This mak ...Read More es it easy for people to find jobs without having to commute into the city and also to benefit from reduced property taxes due to commercial taxes offsetting the residential property taxes. As a result, the Melville school district, Half Hollow Hills, is Affordable and wonderful.

Melville doesn’t have a LIRR train station and locals commute to either Huntington or Farmingdale station most of the time. There are many restaurants and nightlife on Route 110, and Melville is a safe and good place to raise a family. Commercial businesses also make for easy shopping along Route 110 or in the Walt Whitman Mall.

Melville is a great place to move to and live, but you should understand the advantages and disadvantages before choosing it over other Long Island town. Read Less
