Decent city, kind of boring User Rating 3 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 11, 2021) I have lived here for a little over a year. Overall, I have found my time in Manitowoc to be a bit disappointing. Manitowoc seems like a hard city to fit in if you didn't grow up here. It's a very small town, with a shrinking population. People tend to prefer to stay with their c ...Read More liques of friends they've known for 20+ years. As someone in their mid 20's, I find it very difficult to meet up with people my own age. Most places I go to, I am at least 20 years younger than everyone else. I frequently have to travel to Sheboygan or Green Bay, because a lot of things I took for granted living in bigger cities, are just not available in Manitowoc.

There are some cool places in town, don't get me wrong. Downtown features a lot of bars, though a lot of them are very similar in their concept. Manitowoc: Wisconsins Affordable Choice User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) If you're thinking of moving to Manitowoc, keep in mind that it can be a very low-key city. While the real estate here looks pretty affordable, it's partly due to the fact that crime is higher than most of the state. You won't have the best selection when it comes to finding a jo ...Read More b either since it's a small city and the closest big city, Green Bay, is nearly an hour away.

On the other hand, there are a few fun things to do here. The best area of Manitowoc is probably when you get close to Lake Michigan. There are a few museums there that are worth checking out, such as the Wisconsin Maritime Museum. You'll also find a decent selection of restaurants and cafes. There's a lot of sports bars and grills too, in case you like to get out and watch some sports games with friends. If you don't mind a slower paced city, Manitowoc might be a good fit for you.
