I have lived here for 17 years and I have seen a lot of crime in this area and drug usuage on my street, sex in vehicles, break ins in my neighbors house 2xs in one week. Traffic on seminole is terrible when I need to get off my street at rush hour forget it there is no way beca ...Read More
use seminole hwy is a cut through and they do not go the speed limit at all its a long line of cars and traffic going towards beltline at 7:30am is back all the way to daisy drive. And this is only going to get worse when the construction starts on verona but DOT they don't care about us or they would help us out more. The park I live next to Marlborough brings in a lot of issues as well I would not recommend ever living next to a park. I have seen guns in this park I have been shot at by be be guns I have seen a young teen shoot someone in the park using a bebe gun and yes I did call police both times I have seen guns. If there is a gun involved you will get police but otherwise , Madison police suck so when you do call they might come or they might not. When my neighbors got broken into the police instead of helping them didnt really want to do anything. They told them the burglers will be back is all they said and guess what they were. I watched a group of individuals sit at a picnic table in this park and watch our street and after that they knew when my neighbors would leave for work so I had to have the tables moved to the shelter.
As for the neighborhood association well that is another story they dont really do anything for this area they seem to be more worried about allied drive who has there own association by the way but Dunns marsh doesnt seem to want to let go. If there are issues in this area they are not willing to help they do not believe there is that much crime, well there is. Open your curtains and open your eyes I would not stay but we are stuck so I have to police my street make sure the drug dealers know there being watched and that having sex in your car won't sit well with me. Its bad when I have to do this but the police said if you do not watch your street and they know they can do this they will take over and then it will get really bad.
Neighborhood association is suppose to be for the neighborhood but this one seems to be more for themselves and what they want as a group as a whole. They do not speak for me.
There are better areas to live in if given the chance I would move into fitchburg where police like to do there jobs and dont care about having to do paper work.
When someone looks at a house for sale on my street and they ask me about this area I am truthful I don't hide a thing, I wish someone would of did this for us.
We had a person looking at a house and he said its a nice house but its too close to Allied for him to think of buying. So do your research the ones that like it here do not see what is really going on or there gone most of the time and on weekends so there never around or they don't care. I would talk to as many neighbors as you can and do not buy near a park you will regret it.
