Lumberton, The Beauty Of Southern Industry User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) As a child, going to Lumberton was a huge surprise. I didn't expect much; I grew up in Marion, South Carolina and heard things about the city before, but I didn't at all think that the "lumber" part was literal or still relevant.

It is.

The city of Lumberton still has a vital l

I wouldn't see anything like it until visiting quarries, or huge manufacturing facilities while in the military.

Living in Lumberton, NC is like getting a taste of charming Southern living while seeing the lumber industry alive and well. The random stacks of wood aren't a thing anymore (unless I happen to miss it every time these days), but there are a lot of lumber professionals and amazing building materials to get at high quality and reasonable prices.

The best areas in Lumberton, NC are near the I-95 overpass with the amazing restaurants, and then the north part of town heading towards Barker Ten Mile. If I had to choose a negative, the area does flood from time to time. That's just a part of being in Hurricane Alley. It's worth it, as long as you have insurance and think of disaster as a chance to remodel instead of the end of the world. Read Less
