Lockport is known throughout the Midwest for its safety rating and many families flock to the area for this reason. The neighborhood where I live in Lockport has recently received an A rating for safety by Better Homes and Gardens and this rating is certainly not uncommon for the city. The city's 5 star school ratings, plentiful museums and monuments, thriving job market, and highly reviewed restaurants and shopping centers also make it an ideal place for young and established families to create roots.
