You have to living here for over a year I cannot say I hate the town but can't say I like it either. At first you look at it and fall in love with the quaintness of it. Then you see that southern hospitality is a joke. You also have to wait to have a doctor appointment for a gene ...Read More
ral practitioner over 3 months and you'll be lucky to see a specialist under a year. They must have referrals from your general practitioner even if you have Medicare that was a big surprise! All in all not at all that is done I find the healthcare is approximately 5 years behind New York at least sometimes I think the people are nicer in New York. The Big Boy network is alive and well. If you have a job you better make sure you could transfer it because otherwise you're going to be working in stock in Walmart. Please don't come here

amazing BBQ restaurants all over town, but there's also a BBQ festival. The festival is usually at the end of October, which is perfect weather in South Carolina; not chilly, and the last days of summer heat are usually gone.
Just don't let the calendars control your idea of temperature. I'm writing this in May with 40 °F mornings, and our Novembers have been in the 90's. It wasn't like this in the 1980's or 1990's, but we make it work.
Living in Lexington, SC is a joy! The food is what matters, but the beautiful greenery found anywhere in Carolina is a charm. The best areas in Lexington are anywhere with a BBQ pit, but most of the great restaurants aren't too far off Highway 379. Lake Murray is also big and beautiful, so don't miss it.
