I was born and raised here as were the 4 generations of my family before me. There are so many positive things about living here, even given our explosive growth in the last decade which has for the most part not been for the overall betterment of our city. I wanted to comment on ...Read More
the crime rating shown on this site (F), the statistics shown do not accurately depict our life here, I can't offer a reason why, if your stats are accurate, that it portrays life here as crime ridden, it's not nearly as bad as the rating. It's safe to take your dog at walk at night, to send your kids to the neighborhood park, and leave your doors open during the day, all these require using commen sense, but it's still a wonderful small town with good values still holding on, excellent schools and friendly neighbors on every street. Growing pains and our lower cost of home ownership as compared to neighboring cities have taxed our services including our police, but they do a very good job maintaining our safety with the recourses they are given.

I enjoy living in Lancaster, Ohio. Although it is a small town, my city has a lot of historical history. We have many museums including the Sherman House, Georgian, and the Ohio Glass Museum. If you are not a civil war buff, then we also have a lot of outdoor parks and water acti ...Read More
vities. One of the best things to do in the summer is visit Jet Pack Water Adventure where you fly/ leap into the air on a jetpack.
Lancaster is beautiful especially in the fall when the trees change colors. When my family members come and visit, they love to sightsee and take in the scenery of the historic homes. We also have good schools including Ohio University (Lancaster campus). The elementary, middle and high schools are decent as well.
If you are a foodie, we have a few authentic restaurants including Ale house 1890 and Cherry Street Pub. I love authentic food so these are my two favorites. The macaroni and cheese at Cherry Street Pub is an indulgent delight!
