living at Lake Waynoka User Rating 1.5 rating By Bob Boyer ( Jun 13, 2016) This is a board run gated community. To have things changed in the community you must be elected to the board. The board pretty much does want they want regardless of what the people living in the community want.1st Case in point - the community voted to ban golf carts....the boar ...Read More d want golf carts....there for the board over ruled the popular vote and aloud golf carts to be driven on streets with 35 MPH speed limits, The carts travel about 10 MPH causing traffic problems.2nd case in point - the back gate caused backup problems for owners entering the community and voted to have auto gates installed. The were installed a free sticker for owners now cost $20/car and the board elected to stop cars and trucks with hauling trailers and motorhomes banned from entering the back gate with out informing the owner prior to the voting on auto gates. They were permitted in the past! One should know that more than 65% of all traffic enters the back gate! Many more would enter the back gate except all 1st time entrances( by owners families) must come to the front gate and anyone with a boat or camper must enter the front gate. If the front gate were moved to the back like many owners have repeatedly requested......it would reveal that 85% would enter the back gate and few would ever enter the front gate.3 case in point - When comments are made at the front office, office personnel will tell you "that is a good point! You should run for the board and put that through!"4th case in point - there are many items in the rules that are never followed! When you ask they tell you to fill out a written compliant to get things corrected! (A way to get you to back off and that way they do not have to do their appointed duties. When you fill out a complaint or bring it up to the board your mane is printed in the news letter and nothing is ever done to correct the problem.5th case in point - The grass was mowed by an outside contractor. It was a nice job too. Now the lake cuts the grass about twice a year on vacant lots and never mows around any obstacles such as fire hydrants. telephone poles, culvert pipe, low areas etc.Just take a ride around the whole community some late July day. You will see old rotten boats, some off their trailer, waist high grass in areas, rutted ditch lines holding water for days if not weeks on end and culvert pipes damaged and almost hidden fire hydrants!
