Perfect place for many User Rating 5 rating By Anonymous ( Jan 19, 2023) Lake Lure is extraordinarily beautiful and a safe place to live. NatGeo magazine listed Lake Lure as one of the 10 most beautiful man-made lakes in the world. The mountains surrounding the area make it that much more beautiful. This is a family place with 2 sand beaches (one pu ...Read More blic, one private), hiking areas, boating, fishing, golf and much more. But it is not a place for night life. There are a few good restaurants, but no fast food places here. People cook at lot of meals at home, and often entertain at home. Also, although there is a great grocery store and pharmacy here, it is a 30 min drive to places like Target or Home Deport. The roads around the lake are curvy and not that wide. But we are within 90 minutes of 3 airports. So it is the perfect place for many. But if you are constantly going shopping or going out to eat, this may not be the place for you. Read Less
