Loving Life in Lafayette, Indiana! 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jan 30, 2012) I've lived in many places across the country, but for five years I called Lafayette, IN home. I moved to Lafayette, IN because of my job and I'll admit, at first I wasn't happy about it. I knew nobody in this city. That all changed rather quickly once I realized it's actually a g ...Read More reat place to live.

What I loved most about living in Lafayette is that you get a mixture of city and country life. There are apartments in the heart of the city and country living right on the outskirts. You drive for five minutes and you're in the middle of all the action, but you can retreat right back to your quiet, peaceful home in no time.

There is an abundance of shopping, dining and entertainment in Lafayette. You'll have your choice between big retail stores and malls and smaller, privately-owned boutiques. There's a coffee house on just about every corner and plenty of bars and nightclubs if you're looking for an exciting nightlife.

Lafayette is just minutes away from Purdue University, so it's rich with history. In addition, the schools in Lafayette are among the best in the state. Home to Subaru and Caterpillar plants, work is plentiful in this town. It's the perfect place to raise a family, yet also ideal for those without children and living the single life. Of all the places I've lived across the United States, Lafayette, IN is by far my favorite. God willing, I hope to someday call this my home again. Read Less
