Jacksonville, North Carolina: A Fun Place to Visit 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Aug 05, 2010) In June/2010 I spent three days visiting Jacksonville, North Carolina with my husband. The friendly people of Jacksonville really made our trip pleasant. We stayed at the Days Inn that was located at 505 North Marine Boulevard. This hotel was inexpensive and very nice. We really ...Read More enjoyed spending some time at the outdoor pool.

The first day of our trip to Jacksonville we went to the Lynwood Park Zoo. The zoo was very nice and the admission was reasonably price. My husband's favorite part of the zoo was feeding the monkeys. My favorite part was being able to pet a huge turtle.

On the second day of our trip we drove about thirty minutes to the beach at Topsail Island. The beach was very clean and beautiful. We had a great time laying in the sun and riding our boogie boards in the waves. That night we went to Angie's Family Restaurant in Jacksonville for dinner. This restaurant was awesome. The food was home cooked and the service was great.

The last day of our trip we spent at the Museum of the Marine. This museum was excellent and gave an easy to follow history of the Marines. We liked the museum so much that we are planning on visiting again on our next trip to Jacksonville, North Carolina. Read Less
