Living in Ironton, Ohio has been a decent experience for my family. The local area is located right on the Ohio, River and right on the West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio border. The local population is just over 10,000, so this area is very small.

io that my family and I have found is actually the local school system. The education system here is superb. My children go to Ironton Elementary School and we all love it and feel that they are in a great school.
The selection of stores and restaurants directly here in Ironton are very limited. Luckily, you can easily cross the bridge to Ashland, Kentucky and easily find what you need. Your children may also enjoy a visit to the local park, one of which has splash pads for their enjoyment on hot summer days.
Overall, this is a small-town community. People are friendly enough and if the town itself doesn’t have what you need, then you can find it within an easy travel distance.
