Inverness Highlands South 5 rating By Anonymous ( Dec 21, 2017) Although the Highlands South doesn't have amenities, the city is within 2 or 3 miles. We live in the south highlands and are 5 minutes from our local fire department/doctor/hospital/grocery/pharmacy. How convenient can you get? Within 5 miles of my house in the south highlands ...Read More is Walmart, Beall's, our dentist, our eye doctor, 3 new car lots, and 5 brand name restaurants, like Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesday, Outback and Applebee's and Golden Corral, not counting pizza shops. We're right around the corner from the county fair grounds. We have beautiful lakes for boating and fishing. A good deal of our area is retirees like us. The south highlands is made up of custom built homes, with lots of wooded lots in between, so it has a rural/urban feel. Great neighbors, and quiet evenings. The only crime we've seen is some teenagers knocked down some mail boxes. Inverness itself is a quiet and friendly little town. We deserve a better number than 61. I think your information is out of date. Read Less
