Be very careful... User Rating 0.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 20, 2018) I received a ticket for driving on a suspended license in Hoffman Estates. I was arrested and my car was towed.I proved without a doubt that the State of Illinois should have never issued the suspended license decision, and appeared in front of a smug beyond belief "hearing offic ...Read More er" to seek to recover the $500 fee the city of Hoffman Estates assessed me to have my car towed.Might as well have appeared in the train station because the whole charade was a railroad job from the get go.Extortion is alive and well in the far below average little community of Hoffman Estates. But, there is some measure of justice I am going to extract. I have a convention of 350 retailers coming into the area for a three day meeting in early 2019, and had decided on Hoffman Estates as the place it would be held. Easily close to $1,000,000 in convention business will now be moved.Hope HE enjoys my $500.Slimey place. Read Less
Stay away from Hoffman Estates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! User Rating 0.5 rating By Mgbfree ( May 27, 2016) Used to be a nice clean place to live. Now, all areas are run down with dead trees, broken fences, overgrown lawns and houses that need major upkeep. You go to any store now it's all foreigners. The school district is a joke with overpaid teachers and their ridiculous benefits a ...Read More nd scam of a pension. Most of the strip malls are garbage. Again, most run by foreigners. And the HE government (overpaid) is another joke. They even have the nuts to charge you when you move out. Hoffman Estates, IL - The Suburb Right in the Middle of it All User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 24, 2012) I have lived in Hoffman Estates for almost eight years now. I moved to Hoffman Estates from a nearby suburb and not one day goes by that I regret the decision. It's perfectly located as a northwestern suburb of Chicago, just a 40 minute drive to all the city has to offer. Well, 4 ...Read More 0 minutes when it's not construction season. It's only about 25 minutes away from O'Hare Airport for the jetsetters and visiting family. It is literally right next to Schaumburg and one of the largest shopping malls in the Chicagoland area, Woodfield Mall. It's also just a quick drive north to Six Flags Great America Amusement Park and 30 minutes west brings you out to the countryside (according to this suburban born and raised native) of Illinois. Hoffman Estates is really in the center of all the Chicagoland action.

Hoffman Estates offers perfect suburban living. It has all the major stores and restaurants as well as the charming mom and pop stores. Sears, Roebuck and Company is headquartered in our enormous Prairie Stone Business Park and there is even a branch of Northern Illinois University located here. Employment opportunities are high in the actual town due to the large number of corporate offices located here, like Sears, AT&T, and Mary Kay. It's also a very easy daily commute to Schaumburg or Chicago from here.

It's a safe city, crime levels are way below the national average. Nightly walks around my neighborhood and taking advantage of the many state forest preserves are some of my favorite leisure activities. Of course, Hoffman Estates is not immune to the notorious Chicago weather where we can start out the day with the sun shinning and warm breeze, and end it in a windy snow fall. The weather keeps things interesting as I always say. I wouldn't raise my family anywhere else. Read Less
