The Quiet, Small "City Of Palms" User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 23, 2018) Living in Hidalgo, TX was an interesting experience for me. I thought that this city was nice to stay in temporarily because of the cost of living. The cost of living here is definitely a lot cheaper than the Bay Area, CA. The homes here are huge for a very cheap price. A million ...Read More dollar home in the Bay Area, CA you can get here for half the price. However, the costs are slowly climbing so if you were interested, I would make a move fast. There city I would say is dominated mostly by hispanics.

The best places in Hidalgo, TX would be the downtown Hidalgo, TX because of the diverse range of restaurants you are able to choose from. There are plenty of authentic hispanic restaurants that I found to be pleasing. For example, Republic of The Rio Grande on 10th Street was a good place to eat at with excellent food and customer service. Rock & Roll Sushi on 2nd Street was also good restaurant service deliciously crafted sushi. Overall, this city was decent to live in, but I would not recommend it long term if you are looking for stability and growth. Read Less
