Need a car but then the world is yours. User Rating 5 rating By Anonymous ( Apr 26, 2024) Hawthorn Woods (HW) is what you make it. After reading the score, I felt it was important to express my thoughts; earning an "F" is just unfair. HW is a quaint residential community; the most beautiful and kind residents live in HW for the security and rule vibe a bedroom communi ...Read More ty offers. However, they are still minutes away (via car) from great shopping, entertainment, dining, medical care, and even Chicago.

HW is high in taxes; bedroom communities are known for that. The village has little growth potential for significant business and housing development. I find this very positive; I will not be looking for a vast Amazon distribution center or extensive housing projects coming to move into HW, messing up traffic, schools, and crime and overtaxing the village services. HW village leaders are doing a good job managing their budget and are transparent about spending our tax dollars.

I recommend HW to anyone who wants a well-established, tight-knit community that allows for relaxing evenings at home and short car drives to the hustle and bustle. Read Less
