First of all even to Montana residents Great falls is the butt of the jokes. Sexual predators are more rampant per captia than most large cities. Yes, 3x the national average. In addition to that it is so small your odds of running into one goes up. I have lived in major cities ...Read More
across the U.S and none rivaled the amount of violence I have witness first hand here. The people who have grown up here don’t realize that violence isn’t a normal way to solve problems. There is zero opportunity unless you are a rancher, maybe construction. Good luck finding a job where you c an actually get ahead in life. This place is full of stagnation. A literal cess pool. The entire state lacks workers rights. The lack of adequate healthcare is a joke. The hospital Benefis, has done harm to more than one person I know. Public transportation will not connect you to where you need to go. The winters are harsh. There is nothing to do! Other places in Montana provide more amenities, hiking, etc. The streets barely have street lights. The police department is a joke and I have witnessed first hand there lack of competency. Just look at the rampant child abuse statistics. Not a good place to raise a child. There is no path of success for them here. And the chances of them of getting sexually assaulted are higher statistically speaking. If your looking to live in a place where racism is a point of pride, suicide rates are at a national high, sexual predators abound, but every one know your name. Then this might be the place for you.

Thirty five years ago my husband and I traded our two week Florida timeshare vacation for one that was located in Great Falls Montana. From the moment we arrived, we knew we'd never leave. Montana is a wonderful state and Great Falls, the best city. Sixty thousand people live in ...Read More
Great Falls, and it's the third largest Montana city after Billings and Missoula. Locals refer to Great Falls as the "electric city" for its many dams and power plants. The central area is indicative of any cookie cutter, rural locality, but a mile or two in any direction ensures you'll forget the bustle of the metropolitan district and become enamored by the surrounding beauty. Great Falls holds considerable historical significance dating back to the Lewis and Clark expedition. It sits on the Missouri River, is surrounded by mountains on three sides, and vast prairie land to the north.
Even as residents, we never tire of the many things to see and do in Great Falls. The hiking trails and State Parks rank among some of the greatest in the country. The city has a year-round indoor heated pool and two outdoor pools with adjacent parks. Great Falls has Eagle Falls golf course that caters to pros and beginners alike. Indoor recreation includes the Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts for theater and shows. The city is also home to nine museums and the Made in Montana Market Place.
One of the greatest aspects of living in great Falls is the friendliness of the people. The only deterrent is the weather. Winters are very cold and snowy, often reaching sub zero temperatures. Great Falls has a dry climate with most of its precipitation occurring from summer-time thunderstorms. Summers are warm with highs of 90 °F, but dropping considerably at night.

You can't find a more generic town than Great Falls Montana. This comment is meant as neither good or bad.

amenities of the major national chains of stores & restaurants. While spread out a bit, Great Falls is very easy to navigate and I find you have to actually try hard to get lost in the city as the streets are well organized and numbered logically.
There really is nothing overly good or bad about Great Falls. I compare it to a generic store brand product. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done.
