I love living in Great Bend, Kansas because of the unmatched sense of community spirit. The city centers around the Barton Community College as well as its public schools. Primarily a farming community, careers in agriculture are the primary source of job opportunities in this town. Great Bend is located about one hour from the Wichita metro area.

The best area in Great Bend is Brit Spaugh Park, which is home to the Great Bend Zoo, the Wetlands Aquatic Center, various sports fields, and even a BMX park. Veteran's Memorial Park boasts a 18-hole disc golf course, walking trails, a fishing lake, and more. This sleepy little town is not ideal for those looking for an eclectic nightlife or big-city shopping, but the community cannot be beat. Read Less
