Old Town Georgetown User Rating 2.5 rating By Anonymous ( Apr 17, 2019) I've been in Georgetown almost a year now, and the vibes here are okay, just very country community and backwards. Old grandma cafes on the local town square, very boring night life (literally country music, no hip hop or alternative music here) and everything shuts down after da ...Read More rk around 10:00 or Midnight. You have to drive to Austin next door to party after hours LOL. Beware of the cops here, they are severely racist, and oh the job market? Forget it, they will only hire their own KIN or people they know thru others cuz it's the "Good Ole Boy Club." I've got the credentials including TWO degrees, and I constantly get dismissed with a rejection email from WilCo aka Williamson County KKK for every job I applied for. If you're a newbie here, be prepared to make the most HORRIBLE commute ever to Austin where all the jobs enslave us HAHA. Only positive note here is the cheaper housing in the boondocks, cuz Georgetown is way out in the middle of nowhere... Good luck to the next genius that moves here, cuz I'm burning rubber and relocating in the summer, thank God! Read Less
Georgetown - The One In TX User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 13, 2015) Georgetown, but not that one.

I have lived in Georgetown, Texas for many years. The one word that can best describe Georgetown is stagnant. This is a good thing though. Georgetown has remained a significantly pleasing area. Any growth has been disguised so as not to look like s

Georgetown is picturesque and because of this, we are that hidden spot for artists. Austin provides plenty of this type and it keeps the place interesting. The bedroom community feel is pleasing because many people in that area are highly transitory at this point because they are seeking a comfortable life like Georgetown provides. We still have the boutique, small town shopping. This type of shopping is now a cliché type market instead of actual mom and pop. Some of these stores are highly traveled.

I like Georgetown because of the trees. Many areas around do not have this type of growth. Additionally, we are in the proximity of excellent entertainment. Austin is the live entertainment capital of the world. This is especially pleasing during the cool months. For us, the cool months occur in the spring and fall. Fall in this area and in most of Texas is football weather. We can take in some brilliant high school sports. On Friday night's everyone attends their local high school football games. To my surprise, Thursday nights during football season is important too. It is when the middle school, freshman and junior varsity teams play. We use it as sort of a build-up to Friday's games. This sport really is the lifeblood of these areas. We advise visitors to just enjoy it. If they pass a field on a Friday night, they should come see.
