Great place to Live! 5 rating By tommy61157 ( Nov 26, 2023) Great rural texan place to raise a family away from all the drama of big cities while still having everything you need here! NextLink is rolling out Fiber Internet to the whole town, there's a Wal-Mart and a H-E-B. You're in commuting distance of Waco, Temple, Belton, and Killeen ...Read More ! The crime rate is dropping fast and is great compared to anything else in the area! Very conservative town and county as well with lots of churches! Great for raising a family that values faith and country and a nice low cost of living with super affordable housing and gas! This is a hidden gem that I highly recommend people to check out! This town encompasses what I love about Texas! Lots of law enforcement and jobs here also due to the prisons to the north of Town and being the county seat which is also nice for if you have business with the county! Read Less

There schools suck and they also have a big Drug problem. If you want your children to get into drugs send them to the Gatesville schools. If you want your family to be made fun of because you are black move to Gatesville. They also say we support our troops, but they hate the Army and there families, because they don't want the Blacks and mixed race families to move in this little redneck town. Also Gatesville, Texas is on the Southern Poverty Website Showing that The KKK lives and operating in Coryell County or Gatesville, Texas my advice is STAY away from Gatesville, Texas. Read Less
