Franklin, Indiana: Small Historic Town 3 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) The best part about living in Franklin, Indiana is the historic atmosphere of Downtown Franklin. Walking downtown, there are some of the cutest boutiques, restaurants, and historic sightings including the Artcraft Theater. Some of the best areas in Downtown Franklin include the o ...Read More ne of a kind, unique restaurants such as The Willard and Shale Creek Brewing.

The Artcraft Theater in Downtown Franklin is believed to be haunted. During the fall, if you can find a tour describing the hauntings of the theater, I would highly suggest doing so.

Also during the fall and winter, Downtown Franklin has two parades. One in September/October and a Christmas lighting parade in December. These are well known parades that bring the community together. The community itself is classified on the lower income end of the scale. So having parades that bring the community together is important.

In the Summer, Franklin holds the Johnson County Fair close by Franklin Community High School. This is very popular all through the county, and a number one attraction for its residents. If you live in Franklin, I would highly suggest this being something to check off your list. Read Less
